A definitive guide to antitrust compliance has just been published by the American Bar Association Antitrust Law Section. Alicia Downey served as co-Project Editor of the nearly 400-page Antitrust Compliance Handbook: A Practitioner’s Guide. The Handbook aids outside and in-house counsel charged with developing or updating antitrust compliance programs. Chapters examine the full spectrum of practical and substantive compliance issues, including conducting risk assessments, program design, benchmarking programs, employee training, using online technology in training/audits, preparing for dawn raids, and special considerations for competitor collaborations, trade associations, and distribution relationships. The book is available for purchase at the ABA Bookstore and elsewhere.

Alicia Downey is the co-author of Chapter 7 of a newly published book entitled, Antitrust Law and Economics of Product Distribution, available from ABA Publications. Alicia’s chapter, “Price Discrimination and Related Conduct,” includes the perspectives of antitrust lawyers and economists. Her co-author is Dr. Robert Kneuper, a Director and Principal at Navigant Economics. To introduce this unique publication to the antitrust community, Alicia organized and served as the moderator of a telephonic “virtual book launch” on October 21, 2016, which featured the book’s editors and selected contributors.

The editors of Antitrust Adviser, published by Thomson Reuters, have invited Alicia Downey to co-author the chapter on price discrimination in the treatise’s forthcoming fifth edition. Antitrust Adviser is a two-volume resource that addresses practical antitrust issues, including counseling compliance, identifying risky acquisitions under the antitrust laws that require notification to the authorities, and preparing to prosecute or defend an antitrust suit.
