Alicia Downey volunteered at the 2013 Law Day Celebration of the Supreme Judicial Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at the John Adams Courthouse in Boston. Alicia was one of several volunteers from the Supreme Judicial Court Law Clerks’ Society who facilitated discussions with visiting middle school students about the importance of the rule of law.

Downey Law won an interlocutory appeal to a single justice of the Massachusetts Appeals Court, which vacated a preliminary injunction to enforce non-competition agreements against two former employees of a student travel company. As a result of the court’s ruling, our clients were free to resume their employment with their new employer without restriction.

Downey Law LLC opened in Boston, Massachusetts. The firm, which focuses on antitrust counseling, business litigation and appeals, was founded by Alicia Downey, a former partner with Bingham McCutchen LLP.
“It’s no secret that there is a growing demand by sophisticated corporate clients for experienced, high-caliber counsel at reasonable rates,” Alicia commented. “I designed my new practice to meet that demand, and the response from clients and referral sources has been overwhelmingly positive.”
